EDGE Staff

A NOTE TO PARENTS:

• It is experiential, helping to build relationships with Christ and His people
• It offers the best of religious education programs
• Each semester has a catechetical theme
• It utilizes a small-group model; middle school youth are paired with the same CORE members and other middle-schoolers for the entire year.

Overview of the Program:

• EDGE sessions occur on Sundays during the school year. THE EDGE also has social and recreational opportunities designed to create a greater sense of community among our middle school youth.
• Summer programming: In addition to regular EDGE Nights during the school year, we offer a "Summer of Fun" each year while school is out.
• EDGE offers middle school youth occasions to put their faith into action through a variety of service projects.
• Parental involvement is encouraged; it helps the youth and strengthens the whole family's dedication to their faith.

Goals of THE EDGE:

• Foster a transforming spiritual experience of Jesus through the liturgy, allowing early adolescents to have a profound experience of the Word of God and the Eucharist.
• Create a positive experience of the Catholic Church for early adolescents.
• Assist middle school youngsters to gain an appreciation and understanding of what the Catholic Church believes and teaches.
• Incorporate the Church's vision of peace and social justice into their spiritual lives.
• Develop a sense of identity in middle school youth as being vital and a visible presence within the parish.
